Slam poetry about current life situations and issues affecting society particularly young people today.

Checkmate

Divine feminine is rising

The issues everyone faces and the land

It’s hard to comprehend

I keep searching and trying in this dating game

You will find someone

It’s all about settling down

Centre yourself

You are good enough

Elevate, you’re heading for a win

It’s not too late.

Self owned brands and financial literacy

We’ve been told too many times where to go

It’s our time to follow our instincts,

Purpose. Time to begin

There’s a standard set no one can maintain.

Unsustainable

The media is sexualising and objectifying females. The media is pushing the agenda of self-gratifying and demoralising sex. Setting it as an emotionless encounter driving to normalise that

Presenting it at a far too young age and into as many movies as we can see

Same discourse running again

Are we safe in having freedom and are we even equals

Time passes us by and we are older now

We’re representing brands that are repressing and silencing our voices

Products that make problems to profit off of pain

I see the struggle

Not about to lose another brotha

We watch our parents on the hamster wheel

Retirement fund not up to balance

Mortgage not paid off

He’s in Free Guy

The Truman Show

Take the time for yourself and to rest

All these routines and lifestyles you don’t have to lead

We don’t need to people please nor prove ourselves no more

The keyholders gatekeeping

Call a diagnosis in.

Take drugs or to be drugged

Holistic health

Invisibility never heard

Prone to another treatments

Calendars, statistics

This is the agenda

Robbing us of time.

All we gotta do is log on online seek validation and get dressed up for hours taking all the hours of the day

We all checked out and isolated

They handed us the remote

No one should be silenced

You are value in its essence

This is your truth

Ashamed of our experiences, pain and what we’ve gone through

Alike to our parents pain

And recognise causes parents fought for

Speak your truth, believe in yourself

It’s a lot to carry solo that’s why we’re around

You are worthy, innate joy shouldn’t be out of reach

Doctrines evolving vastly overtime

Books lost in the embers.

People expressing their sexuality and being themself ridiculed everyday

Decades past

Lies and manipulation covering the fulfilment of basic needs

Slowing down with no value in sight

Positive and negative reinforcement

Connections around

Despite the virus that took place

Always believe in the underlining messages

Trust your instincts

Climate is the change

It seems we’ve forgotten our roots

Always ignoring the root course

We need each other

Cultures united

Culture and history dating back preserved

Learn and educate

Being handed stolen gold with no freedom

Set prices attainable

Rent and wages is due and debt has been owed to the first people of the land

They can not hear us

Time to bring new solutions to the table

Years in the making, we take no more false promises and press-motivated responses

Connecting to each other, learning.

This matters, you matter and we care.

No one gets left behind.

You can begin to let your guard down, be yourself and exhale

What you love and who you are matters.
