Similar to the beginning to every great television show, where the lead character either starts a brand new job or moves into a new place- I knew that it was the perfect time for me to just that. If I was to make a free and happy life for myself I had to pack my room up and move to a new place. Each day I spend in the new place I live in is unexpected, each week being so very unpredictable. With the many possibilities for growth I struggled to take in all of my blessings striving to lead this changed lifestyle.
Being raised and spending most of my years in the city, my days were led by fast-fashion, fast-foods, public transport, concerts and traffic. Keeping in on the loop of what is the new trend, who is coming to Melbourne and what event is on each night. Whereby, social media and networking provided me with every detail I needed to fill each day. Each day became very predictable. And I could feel myself becoming too comfortable. Seeking a new challenge, an adventure and my own home I settled upon living in a coastal town in New South Wales.
Life indeed was different here and my eyes were now wide open as I spectated the differences between city life to country living. The stars shone brighter in the night sky of the Countryside and I became an early riser, getting up to complete house work, have a cuppa in the sun, visit a café or go for a swim in a nearby beach. Each day promises a new adventure that I curiously explore.
However, life can be busy as though to be ‘business as usual’ each person trying to achieve their physical, mental, social and spiritual needs. The pace is fast here and life can be as enjoyable as you want it to be with no pressures from the outer world you become able to focus into hearing the needs of others as well as taking care of yourself.
As I venture between the coast and the city, I came back to arrive in Melbourne where cars are to drive at a close proximity to one another with no empty roads. The people have changed they are become harder to track down to spend time with and more focused on achieving goals and mastering each day. Success is at the forefront of the imagination as new jobs are filled and new courses are completed. After achieving another remarkable goal we still ask, 'how can I be most successful?' or simply, 'what's next?'
We must disconnect to connect with what is truly important.
With the many online influences around it becomes easy to be feel you are somehow not living your best life. For some time each day, put the phone aside and take away any white noise for some time to rather get in touch with how each of your friends and family members are around you. This comes as a much needed task to include each day as life moves so quickly.
To be making a decision for myself of where to live next year, the future still remains unclear.
